La Maison Restaurant

LaMaison Restaurant and The Alligator Bar is a family owned and operated facility serving the residents of St. Martin Parish, LA and the many visitors that frequent this wonderful community.  LaMaison Restaurant and The Alligator Bar resides in a structure known throughout Acadiana.

The building which currently houses LaMaison was constructed and originally opened in 1899 and was known as the JP Farrand Building.  Since its original opening, the structure has been occupied as a mercantile shop, bakery, post office, antique dealership, ice cream parlor and two restaurants  with only a short period of time being vacant.  Over the years, the structure has remained in almost the identical fashion as it was designed in the late 19th century.  This building plays a significant part of the history of St. Martinville in that it has served residents of the area in many capacities and can be viewed in almost every photogragh of downtown St. Martinville. (Some of these photos are on display within The Alligator Bar)  Recently, the structure has been featured in some current movies.

During the renovation of the building in 2008, every effort was made to make certain the building maintains the integrity of its originalility and maintains the historic features that it originally possessed.  Today, La Maison and its Alligator Bar provides food, drinks and entertainment to the residents of St. Martinville and the surrounding areas as well as a relaxing stop for the many tourists that frequest the historic sites of the area. 

              Our Hours

LaMaison Restaurant is open for Lunch Tuesday thru Friday 11:00 AM until 2:00PM.  Dinner is served Wedensday and Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  On Friday and Saturday dinner is served from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM.  The Alligator bar is always open with the restaurant and is often open later on the weekends.
